COLLEGE ADMISSIONS: THINGS ARE CHANGING ALL THE TIME
When it comes to college admissions, things are always changing! It’s difficult to keep up with everything from test-optional to admissions requirements, enrollment trends, and basic conventional wisdom. For example, did you know:
◾ You need a test score to be admitted to state universities in Florida.
◾ Columbia University is the first Ivy League school to go test-optional permanently.
◾ The University of California system is currently test-blind.
◾ An ‘early action’ option is now offered by more than one-third of the colleges accepting the Common App.
◾ Highly selective schools often require 3 years – sometimes 4 – of a foreign language.
◾ To be a business major at the University of Texas, you need to take a math class and a science class in all four years of high school.
◾ The Class of 2023 has submitted more college applications than any other class. The number of college applications filed through the Common App has jumped 30% over the past three years.
