CELEBRATING MILESTONES
Last week, I was celebrating a major milestone: My oldest son got married! Grayson and Shelby married on the 4th of July, surrounded by a supportive group of family and friends. It was truly a wonderful celebration. Of course, I am excited to share that news … but I also want to tie it into college admissions.
Going off to college is another major milestone. And from a practical standpoint, high school students need to know a variety of things, including:
- How to Manage Money
- How to do Laundry
- How to Clean a Bathroom
- How to Grocery Shop
- How to Cook the Basics
- How to Do Dishes
- How to Get Better When They Are Sick
- How to Administer Basic First Aid
- How to Call for Emergency Road Services
- How to Be Safe
It’s never too early to start teaching these skills to your children – so that they are truly ready for the transition to college. Throughout my work with your student, I help address some of these crucial skills – such as access to money, medical care, and basic needs.
