NEWSLETTER – Edition 79

Last week, I was celebrating a major milestone: My oldest son got married! Grayson and Shelby married on the 4th of July, surrounded by a supportive group of family and friends. It was truly a wonderful celebration. Of course, I am excited to share that news … but I also want to tie it into college admissions.

Going off to college is another major milestone. And from a practical standpoint, high school students need to know a variety of things, including:

  1. How to Manage Money
  2. How to do Laundry
  3. How to Clean a Bathroom
  4. How to Grocery Shop
  5. How to Cook the Basics
  6. How to Do Dishes
  7. How to Get Better When They Are Sick
  8. How to Administer Basic First Aid
  9. How to Call for Emergency Road Services
  10. How to Be Safe

It’s never too early to start teaching these skills to your children – so that they are truly ready for the transition to college. Throughout my work with your student, I help address some of these crucial skills – such as access to money, medical care, and basic needs. I am definitely here to help through every step of the process!
