MAY 1st: COLLEGE DECISION DAY
This is one of the most rewarding weeks of the year! The National College Decision Day is Sunday, May 1st. This is the day when most students in the Class of 2022 will announce a college decision. For many colleges, it is also the deadline for enrollment deposits – making the decisions real for students and parents alike!
Within my group of Seniors, I think I have a little bit of everything on this College Decision Day. I have one who has known where she will go since the day she received her acceptance letter back in October. I have several who have narrowed down their choices to two very good options – and will probably wait until the very last minute to decide. I have one who has been weighing options both near and far, and has chosen the option located more than 2800 miles from his home. I have one student who will commit to his second choice, but hold-out for the hope of making it off the waitlist at another college later this month. And, I have a couple of students who have selected colleges that weren’t even on their initial college lists! That’s always fun to see!
I often mention that I love the process of helping students find and fund their ideal college experiences. Part of the fun is knowing that no two students are alike! The process is different for each student, and my approach to college admissions reflects that. I am eager to help. And it’s never too early to start!
